This website was was created jointly by two locals of the Rame Peninsula (John Shepherd and Colyn Thomas) in an endeavour to ensure that its past history is not forgotten by the creation of an online Gallery.
The compilation, photographic restoration and website is the work of John whilst Colyn supplied the material he painstakingly collected over a 45 year period including the slideshows he presented to the local community.
Our grateful thanks are given to the 8th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe (Bob Edgcumbe) who allowed Colyn access to private family albums and provided a wealth previously unseen archive material.

Photographic images contain our legacy, so even if cracked and faded we do not throw them away as they help us learn about the past and connect us to family and friends.
If you have any material that would grow the image colllection we would be delighted to hear from you. We would be especially grateful to borrow any photographic material or postcards that depict life on the Rame Peninsula in years gone by - the originals will be digitally scanned and safely returned.
We will, of course,in all instances add your name as the contributor for any material we use. We hope you enjoy this website.
